The bar, also referred to as the blade, is the part of the chainsaw upon which the cutting chain travels – the long thin projection of the chain saw; the cutting blade that supports the chain. Improper use of the bar can result in kickbacks and saw cuts. It is the extreme top and bottom of the bar’s nose that is most sensitive.
